Mike Abrams, President

Mike received a Food Technology degree from The Ohio State University
in 1980. After graduation he went into food ingredient sales until
1988, when he joined the San Francisco office of C. Melchers and
Co., headquartered in Bremen, Germany. Mike became Vice President
of Sales and Marketing, responsible for all North American flavor
sales. Sales increased dramatically during his tenure.
In 1991 Mike launched a successful food product development program
at Oregon State University. He also helped create a member survey
for the Specialty Coffee Association of America which defined trends
in manufacturing, marketing and consumer demographics. Mike is a
member of several trade associations and has led seminars and workshops
for industry groups. He has been profiled and quoted as a source
in many trade publications.
In 1996 Mike formed Novato-based Flavor Waves, and has since specialized
in custom flavor development.
